OK. I was going to take a nice month long break, but I find myself wondering what people are up to and so I logon tonight.
My last week?
- I wrapped up at the compamy I have worked for since we moved to California. No more 1+ hour drive on 101 every morning and evening.
- I started (part-time) at my new job and things are going very well. I start full time after vacation in early June. I am working for a financial advisor and handling “all things life/disability/long term care insurance” for him. One of my pet passions, to be sure.
- We made the final car payment on our Prius. We own one of our cars! Let’s see if I am disciplined enough to start putting the car payment into savings.
- Still no meat! No meat since March 16th.
- My sister’s birthday is today, so for the next 6 days we are just one year apart. On the 31st I move ahead one more year. Happy Birthday, A!!
- One week from today we will be on vacation in Las Vegas! I can’t wait for relaxation by the pool every day and going out every night.
- I took one of my kitties to the vet today and was told she was doing fantastic for a 16-year old. This makes me so happy. Totally healthy.
- In the last week, the hills in the Bay area have changed from green to gold. They will be this way until November or December.
- A college friend confirmed that both she and her husband ( also a college friend) have a flight booked for mid-July. This is another development that makes me happy.
- We may go hiking in Big Sur on Sunday. Big Sur is beautiful and you should try to see it at some point.
- I hate the episodes of Jacques Pepin when his daughter is on. Random, I know.
Time for a break from screens and Internets tubes. I’ll be back in a few weeks after vacation, new job jitters, and (hopefully) with a new furry friend.
It was on this aforementioned first date that my husband informed me that as a kid he could play Sister Christian on his keyboard.
I married him anyway.
My first date with my husband was to see Boogie Nights when it came out.
It’s on TV tonight so we are rewatching. The soundtrack is great and there are SO many people in this movie.
Sherlock Holmes is awesome.
We are watching a show on cruise ship accidents and their idiotic crew members. You could not pay me enough to have me ever set foot on a cruise ship.
I do think it would be fun to do a transatlantic crossing as a passenger on a freighter ship.
We got a call back on our inquiry for this dog. He is currently in a foster home and we just got an appointment to meet him on Thursday. I am mildly excited.
